We provide both outpatient psychotherapy and intensive in home counseling services to community members in or near Charlottesville, Roanoke, Harrisonburg, and Augusta county Virginia.
Outpatient Services:
The League of Therapists offers psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families. The process of psychotherapy involves bringing into awareness patterns and relationships of the client. Our interventions help to create the opportunity for positive change. In addition we offer parent education and training, group counseling, and supervision for mental health professionals seeking licensure.
Intensive In-Home services
In home service packages include intensive therapeutic interventions in the home, school, office, and community designed to meet the child and family’s needs. In addition to individual, family, and couples counseling we can provide parent skills training, anger management techniques, relapse prevention, life skills training, attachment work and case coordination. We work closely with the referral source to tailor our services to fit the needs of the client, initially and throughout treatment.
The League of Therapists provides a team of counselors for each family. They provide a range of services from help filling out job applications to support and strategies for coping with difficult emotions. This emotional and practical therapeutic alliance helps children, teenagers, and adults improve problematic behaviors and learn to thrive.
This service is especially beneficial for families with children and teenagers who are:
- At risk of being removed from their homes or communities
- Transitioning back into the community from placement
- Exhibiting difficulties in daily life due to emotional, mental, and / or behavioral conditions
- Not helped by less intensive services such as outpatient counseling.
Funding for this service may come from CSA / FAPT or Medicaid / FAMIS. We provide assessments for all clients and will determine Medicaid / FAMIS eligibility without charge to the referral source.
