Comprehensive Child and Family Assessments

The League of Therapists is committed to keeping children within their families and/or communities whenever possible. We are able to offer highly skilled and creative teams for assessment and treatment planning.

Assessments are individually designed to answer specific questions about the capacity functioning and optimal treatment for the person being assessed.


A League of Therapists Assessment Involves:

Collating existing data, reports and knowledge.

Establishing with the referral source clear questions to be answered such as:

  • Intellectual capacity
  • Academic needs
  • Placement planning
  • Substance abuse issues
  • Risk to self and/or community
  • Parenting needs
  • Functioning in a home
  • Psychiatric/medication management

Arranging individual, family and/or community assessment sessions and/or appropriate psychological testing to answer the specific question(s).

Producing a concise and useful report within 30 days that offers a treatment plan and prognosis.

Assessments may be conducted in conjunction with intensive in-home services, outpatient therapy, group therapy and/or other interventions as needed to inform treatment planning.
