Mental Health Support Services (MHSS)

Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) is a new program of the Charlottesville League of Therapists. Beginning in July 2010, MHSS serves adult clients (of public or private agencies) who are at risk of:

  • Hospitalization
  • Homelessness
  • Isolation from social supports

With and for each client, we will

  • Create an Individual Service Plan for their personal goals, needs and preferences.
  • Develop lesson plans to teach new skills.
  • Identify and overcome barriers to using the new skills in their home environment.
  • Connect to resources and supports in their community.
  • Coordinate services with other providers (case managers, psychiatrist, or counselors).

MHSS Program Staff
The MHSS program is led by staff who are trained in Psychiatric Rehabilitation Counseling, a specialty that focuses on helping people with serious mental illnesses to gain the skills and supports they need to function successfully in the environments of their choice.
